Moving Temperature - we know how to move temperature

Heat Exchangers
Using over twenty years of experience and proprietary Thermal Sizing Tools, Saint Clair Systems will always select the right heat exchanger for the application. Right means that it will not be oversized or undersized and it will be the right choice for the material, pressure, application type and maintainability. What follows is a discussion of the variety of heat exchangers we have available and how they may be used.
Tube Type Heat Exchangers
Tube Type Heat Exchangers are ideal for medium flow, high pressure applications.
These designs are cleanable and capable of handling processes of up to 6,000 psi.
Whether Shell-and-tube or Tube-in-tube or whether carbon or stainless steel, these heat exchangers are compatible with all of our Temperature Control Units and our peripherals.
Our proprietary Thermal Sizing Tools allow us to determine the appropriate tube configuration and length for your application. For more specifics about these heat exchangers, see the Tube Type Heat Exchanger portion of our product data sheets.

Our Straight-Flo design eliminates packing or filtering.
Our Tube Type Heat Exchangers are impervious to pressure spikes from reciprocating or diaphragm Pumps.
Other features include the following:
• Available in Modular Sections to Build Required Thermal Capacity
• Can Replace Plate & Frame Heat Exchangers
• Skid, Ceiling or Wall Mountable
• Fast and Easy to Install
• Compact Computer-Engineered for Minimum Space Utilization
Plate Heat Exchangers
Excellent for medium-to-high flow, low-to-medium pressure applications, the Welded Plate Heat Exchangers, shown to the right, feature no gaskets and all stainless steel construction.

Modular Shell & Tube Heat Exchanger

Appropriate for solutions that will not accommodate a Straight-Flo Heat Exchanger, the Modular Shell & Tube Heat Exchanger offers the same level of temperature control while adding a high amount of configuration flexibility.
The modularity allows for adjusting both the length and the width of the heat exchanger assembly for the perfectly sized heat exchanger.
The ability to add parallel paths allows any desired pressure drop to be achieved.
Profile Traced Covers
Our patented Profile Traced Covers are the ideal heat exchanger when the pipe carrying the material from storage to the dispense valve is exposed.
Exploiting the conductive properties of copper, we are able to convert any pipe or header into a tube-in-tube heat exchanger.
This patented design includes forming the copper directly to the radius of the material path. This maximizes the surface contact area and reduces the required length of the heat exchanger.
The physical isolation between the material and the temperature-controlled water makes this design ideal for urethane and other hydrophilic applications.
This design is easy to install and can be implemented without any interruption to normal production.
This infra-red image shows the effectiveness of this design as a heat exchanger. The material is isolated from the colder temperatures, (shown in purple and blue), and the heat is evenly distributed through the material path, (shown in orange). This eliminates "hot-spots" and allows for a more gentle and efficient transfer of heat.
